HOMEROOM: Music today and then a birthday celebration. Sixth grade also celebrated positive and productive behavior today. Students who turned in homework and were respect of property and others had an afternoon of board games, games, a movie and recess. We have so many students who do the right thing each day! You are awesome!
HOMEWORK: Reading: For the character sketch - write a rough draft of two paragraphs: 1. An introduction of your chosen character (be sure to mention the novel) and the first character trait with its evidence; 2. The second paragraph is for the second character trait and its evidence.
Remember Monday is the second to the last day of our food drive for our Mead community. Ah, kids, . . . really . . . do you want to bow down to the other classroom?

HOMEROOM: No specialists today . . . instead we had an all-school science assembly.
Thanks to several students who brought food items for the food drive! Most generous and evident of your efforts! We hope to see more donations tomorrow.
READING: A rough draft of characterization of one of the story characters. Criteria: At least 5 different character traits with 2 pieces of evidence supporting the traits selected.

HOMEROOM: No specialists today. We discussed our food drive, which will last for one week. Mr. Pfiffner's class challenged our class, which we accepted. So kids . . . stay focused for this one week challenge. The results for all of this venture will bring goodness to others. Thanks, in advance, for all your energy and care.

HOMEROOM: Students had Library this morning and I read from the Christmas novel.
SPELLING: We practiced suffix endings. What students didn't complete in class is homework.
READING: Maniac Magee: Write a summary of chapters 1-5. Quiz over pages 30-42 tomorrow.
Tangerine: Write a web for a summary from 1-90. Continue to record relationship observations in the novel.
Number the Stars: Pre-writng web for a summary up to page 60. Answer questions from chapters 3 or 4. Your choice.
Romeo and Juliet: Draw a picture of the described dream. Summary of Act 1 Scene 1.
